Jackie Lee "Jack"  Steele
JACKIE “JACK” LEE STEELE, age 84 of Clarkesville, GA, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018.
Born in Springfield, Missouri on June 7, 1933, he was a son of the late Fred Cleo and Mae Wilson Steele. Jack is a Veteran, serving two years in the Army. He retired from Georgia Power with over 23 years of service. He was raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma but made Georgia his home for the last 53 years. Jack enjoyed woodworking and was a “helping hand” in the community. He was a longtime member of Clarkesville Baptist Church. Jack was a loving father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle, friend and neighbor and never met a stranger. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Wilson Steele.
Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Frances “Kay” Kester Steele of Clarkesville, GA; daughters, Tonya LeCroy (Bill) of Kennesaw, GA and Taren Jordan of Acworth, GA; sons, Tim Steele (Amber) of Acworth, GA and Todd (Mish) of Homer, GA; sister-in-law, Jayne Steele of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial services are scheduled for Saturday, June, 2, 2018 at Clarkesville Baptist Church with Rev. Grady Walden officiating. Visitation at 10 am with memorial service following at 11 am.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Clarkesville Baptist Church Building Fund or C.O.P.S Georgia Chapter.
